Product Details
The full specification, the roll construction, how our coating compares with ordinary galvanized mesh, and the quality checks every batch passes before it is packed.
Marine-grade PVC-coated welded wire mesh
Our marine-grade PVC-coated welded wire mesh is engineered specifically for building high-performance underwater traps. Whether you target lobster, blue crab, stone crab or Dungeness crab, our mesh delivers the structural integrity and corrosion resistance that the harshest saltwater environments demand.
This is professional-grade trap wire supplied by the roll, built to meet the strict standards of commercial fishing fleets across North America and worldwide.
Our trap wire gives professional fishermen the durability and the ease of fabrication they need for high-yield commercial harvests. Whether you are building lobster pots, crab traps or oyster cages, our mesh is made to last on the seabed.
Crab & lobster trap wire mesh roll
Why this mesh outlasts ordinary galvanized mesh: marine-grade PVC coating instead of bare zinc, precision welds that hold, high tensile strength that resists deforming, and the forming and cutting behavior that keeps a trap line being built without rejects. Finished traps and the standard color range are shown alongside.
Product specification sheet
Mesh sizes from 0.5" × 0.5" up to 4.5" × 4.5", with core wire from 8 to 16 gauge. Rolls are supplied in widths of 18", 24", 30", 36", 46.5", 48", 60" and 72", and in lengths of 50′, 100′ and 150′. Size, pattern and gauge can all be customized, and cut-to-size mesh panels are available.
Roll configuration & mesh pattern
The roll in cross-section: steel core wire, hot-dip galvanized coating, a primer layer and the PVC outer coating. The standard 1.5" × 1.5" mesh is shown with its reinforced edge wire, which is what stops the panel unraveling when a trap takes a knock.

Core features & advantages
Our marine-grade SFB (Super Fusion Bond) coating against standard PVC coating, at the weld and under bending. SFB bonds to the wire rather than sitting on it, so it resists cracking, peeling and flaking instead of failing early in salt water.
Quality control
Wire diameter is checked with micrometers on every batch, tensile strength is tested on both the raw material and the welded joints, and aperture is gauged on the finished mesh. The readings are recorded, so a later order can be matched to the first.
Product display
High-adhesion PVC coating and GAW (galvanized after welding) construction, a coating that is non-toxic and will not crack or strip, and heavy gauge wire. Wire diameter is measured before and after coating, so you know the finished thickness you are buying.
The five details we need
Send these and we can quote a firm price and start a sample. A photo or a drawing of the gear you use now is just as good as a specification sheet.
Mesh, wire and roll
- 1. Mesh size
- Aperture in inches or mm
- 2. Wire
- Core wire gauge
- 3. Roll
- Width and length per roll
- 4. Quantity
- Rolls per order and how you want it packed
Finish, coating and color
- Marine-grade PVC coated, hot-dip galvanized, or galvanized after welding
- Coating thickness if you have a specification
- Black, green, red, yellow or blue, or a custom color match
- Cut-to-size panels instead of full rolls if that suits your line
- Escape panel or biodegradable component if your rules require it
Branding and documents
- Your logo on cartons, pallet labels and roll tags
- Neutral packing if you brand locally
- Packing list, commercial invoice and certificate of origin handled in-house
- Free or charged samples confirmed per enquiry
